At 5,895 metres, Uhuru Peak is the highest point in Africa and the tallest free standing mountain anywhere. Reaching it is a demanding high altitude trek rather than a technical climb, so no ropes or mountaineering skills are needed, only time, preparation and a sensible route.
We favour the seven and eight day itineraries on Lemosho and the northern circuit. The extra nights are what let your body acclimatise, and they turn the climb from an ordeal into one of the great walks of your life.
